Marriage Coaching
Marriage coaching can be a good fit for those who are motivated to change their marriage and willing and able to do the work but still need a little help learning what to do and implementing what they learn.
Break through your relationship barriers with Marriage Coaching.
Does this sound like you?
Even though your marriage may have hit a rough patch, you still want it to be all that it can be. You need for the love, romance, trust, and communication to come back. You want more intimacy, more help, less fighting, and for life together to be enjoyable again. You are willing to put in the time and effort but aren’t sure where to start or what the best way to fix things though.
Many clients looking for marriage help, are just that way. They aren’t ready to give up yet but they want and need more from their relationship. They want to find a way to revive their marriage even with the business of kids, careers, family, friends, and outside responsibilities.
Marriage coaching is the answer for many of these people. And, perhaps for you too!
Depending on your needs, marriage coaching can take two different tracks:
1. Traditional Coaching: 100% client driven with no agenda or lessons from the coach. You work through whatever you are facing in whatever area of life that is affecting your marriage. Need to talk about sex or children or finances or bad attitude or the in-laws or that weird thing your spouse does with the dog that bothers you? Your coach can help!
2. Guided Coaching: a hybrid model that adds to the effectiveness of traditional coaching by combining its advantages with the advantages of our proprietary training. Typically, the first part of the session will be a guidance from your coach on topics that can help your marriage. Then, the second part can help you learn how to implement what you learn or discuss anything else you want to.
What is Coaching?
Marriage coaching is NOT therapy, marriage counseling, and does not treat mental health issues. It’s focused on what needs to change today and how to make that change happen and stick.
Our coaches have extensive training and experience in helping people to evolve and reach their full potential. They are focused on helping clients fix their problems, achieve their goals, change from the inside out, and overcome any barriers that may be holding progress back. Every coach matches our own rigorous training and certification requirements.
We’ve developed and tested unique processes and tools that can help anyone, in any situation and in any role take the next step to success and beyond.
Your coach will:
- Help you create strategies and an action plan that will work best for you in your situation.
- Help you take action. We won’t talk about the past very much but will focus on today and the future and what can be done to move forward.
- Ask questions. Coaching clients are expected to dig deep and find their own personal answers with the guidance of the coach instead of just blindly accepting advice.
- Hold you accountable. Your coach expects you to do what you say you are going to do and will follow up with you to make sure it’s done and help you overcome obstacles that may be holding you back.
- Give you their input, advice, and encouragement.
- Listen. Not feeling heard holds a lot of people back.
- In the case of Guided Coaching, you’ll also learn valuable lessons that can help you to better understand how to improve your life and marriage.
How does coaching work?
We can do coaching:
- On the telephone. We’ll give you a call-in number and you can call in from wherever you are.
- Through face-to-face video. For this, you’ll need a good internet connection, microphone, and speakers of some sort. You can use your cell phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop PC.
- In small groups. You can join one of our group coaching programs that will help you learn and help others in the group. This is a popular choice due to reduced fees compared to 1-1 coaching and many people enjoy and learn from other participant’s stories.
Depending on which format coaching takes, there may also be recordings available, so you can listen again if you happen to miss something.
Who Is Coaching NOT For?
While coaching can help almost anyone, there are some situations where it should be avoided and other help systems such as therapy or self-study may be more appropriate.
- Those with mental health issues that are better addressed in marriage counseling. If problems such as severe depression or anxiety are affecting you, coaching probably won’t work until you resolve those issues.
- If you can’t make your own decisions about the problem or goal and act accordingly, coaching may not work.
- If you can’t accept responsibility (not blaming anyone else or any other circumstances for your problems) and make the changes needed, coaching may not work.
- If you aren’t humble enough to accept the guidance of someone who can help you break through and willing to change what you’ve always done, coaching may not work.
- If you feel hopeless or like you are a loser who doesn’t deserve anything good or similar to these feelings, coaching may not work.
